Favourite questions answered

  • What is podsurfer?

Podsurfer makes it possible to download and enjoy podcast/videocast media on bada devices. Podsurfer was selected as a category winner at Bada Global Developer Challenge.

  • What phone models are supported?

Currently podsurfer supports Samsung Wave. Other bada handsets will be supported shortly.

  • How much does it cost?

Podsurfer has two versions - a premium version that has no restrictions and a lite version that has a few restriction, but is free to download and use.

  • How can I download and install podsurfer on my phone?

Download and install as any other bada application. You can use the Samsung Apps application on your phone or use Samsung Kies on your PC. The direct link to Samsung Apps is here.

  • What is social about podsurfer?

Listening to podcasts tends to be a solitary activity. Sometimes however, we find something so enlightening or cool or funny that we would like to share it. Podsurfer enables you to share your favourite feeds and loveliest moments with your bada buddies. Activate social functions in the settings menu and try it out.

  • When is the next release due?

We aim to publish frequent updates to the application with fixes and new cool features. Unfortunately we are heavily dependent on the speed of Samsung's certification process that can take two weeks or more for the application to be actually published for download.

  • What are some of the upcoming features?

Bluetooth headset support, better fullscreen video handling, some display fixes and compatibility with more feeds to name just a few.

  • Is there a user guide available?

There sure is! Click here for user guide (view in browser)

  • Why does a downloaded podcast/videocast disappear from the download queue?

When the podcast or videocast download disappears from the download queue, it has failed to download. Please try the download again. If the problem persists, the feed probably does not contain downloadable items or there could be something wrong with your connection. There will be better display of failed downloads in the next releases.

  • Why does my phone sometimes crash?

Bada is a very young and quickly growing platform. Occasional crashes might happen that are not even directly related to podsurfer. The good news is that it gets better every day as the platform gets more mature. Please always make sure you have the latest firmware (use Samsung Kies to update your phone if necessary). When you experience memory problems and application becomes very slow, try to close the application and run it again. If this does not help, try if restarting the phone helps. If nothing else helps and it looks to be an issue with podsurfer, please try to reinstall the software. We are continuously working on making the application better and more stable and apologise for any inconveniences on the way.

  • Why is my bluetooth headset not able to change tracks or control volume?

Bluetooth support has been added to the bada platform just recently. Upcoming podsurfer release will include support for bluetooth headsets.

  • I downloaded a video but it shows "failed to play"

Sometimes downloads can be corrupted. Sometimes the file format available is not supported on bada. We will aim to include better compatibility with every new release.
